　　1934, born in Yuechi County, Sichuan Province.

　　1951, entered the Painting Department of Chengdu Art School

　　1953, under the nationwide adjustment of colleges, universities and departments, the Painting Department and Craftwork Department of Chengdu Art School was united with the Fine Art Department of Southwestern People’s Art College into Southwestern Fine Art School, the former Sichuan Fine Arts Institute, where Du held on his school work.

　　1956, remained at the school after graduation as a teacher. Painted the watercolor Performance of an Advanced Worker, which won the second-class reward in the Art Exhibition of Sichuan Youth. Created the print Night, which won the third-class reward in the National Art Exhibition of Youth.

　　1957, joined Sichuan Artists Association. Created the print On Side of Brook, which was selected to take part in Moscow Festival of International Youth, housed in the National Museum of Soviet Union, and published in lots of publication.

　　1958, was transferred to do manual labor in a people’s commune in Nantong Mining Area, Chongqing. Made many fresco paintings for the local commune. In the summer of the same year, moved to Organization Department of Chongqing Municipal Party Committee, as a member to edit a book, the Selected Poems and Pictures about Labor Training. Painted a dozen of watercolors and drew a series of comic strips.

　　1959, his print On Side of Brook was edited into the Selected Printworks in Recent Decade, published by Shanghai People’s Fine Art Publishing House. Southwestern Fine Art School was formally named Sichuan Fine Arts Institute.

　　1960, made the print Early Spring of Chongqing, which was housed in Sichuan Artists Association after being shown on Sichuan Fine Art Exhibition and on the National Fine Art Exhibition.

　　1961, the watercolor Friendship Between China and Poland Remains Fresh Forever won the second reward.

　　1962, went to experience life in a Tibetan area in Northwestern Sichuan. Made over 100 oil paintings and watercolors, such as Grassland and Fertile Soil, some of which were published in different publications. Married Wang Jixiang.

　　1963, made watercolor Herd, print Grassland, oil paintings Herdsman and Snow-white Wool, etc. The watercolor Herd was published by Shanghai People’s Fine Art Publishing House.

　　1964, joined China Artists Association. Ten watercolors including Street and Farming were shown on Sichuan-Hubei Watercolor Exhibition. The print On Side of Brook was housed in Sichuan Artists Association and the print Grassland was edited into the Selected Printworks in Modern China (English Version). The watercolors Still Life, The Morning in Grassland and A Dock by Jialing River were organized into the Selected Watercolors published by Shanghai People’s Fine Art Publishing House. The picture posters Learn from Lei Feng to Be a Screw That Never Rusts (co-painted with Wang Datong) and Drive the Old and New Colonialists out of Africa (co-painted with Wang Datong) were published by People’s Fine Art Publishing House. Du Shuang, his daughter was born.

　　1965, the print Grassland was housed in Sichuan Artists Association after being shown on Asian Six Countries’ Joint Exhibition of Printworks.

　　1966, the Cultural Revolution began. Painted big portraits of Chairman Mao. All of his works, nearly 300 pieces were looted. Divorced Wang Jixiang.

　　1967, married Zhou Deyu.

　　1968, Du Fangxiao, his son was born. Suffered from a heavy disease.

　　1970, went to labor in 0022 Army Farm in Tongliang County.

　　1975, under the background of “Open the Door to Run Schools”, went to 431 Factory of Ziyang County to teach in its school. Fell ill critically.

　　1977, co-painted with Wang Datong and Zhang Shengxian the oil painting For Later Generations, which was shown on Sichuan Oil Painting Exhibition. The oil painting Go to Yan’an was shown on Sichuan Art Exhibition for 50th Anniversary of Army Building.

　　1979, promoted to the rank of lecturer. The oil painting Footpath of Red Rock was shown on Sichuan Art Exhibition for 30th Anniversary of State Founding. The gouache Pure Brightness was published by Sichuan People’s Publishing House. In Baoguang Temple of Xindu County, Chengdu, was converted to Buddhism.

　　1980, made twelve big oil paintings for Chengdu Shuinianhe Department Store. In addition, made over twenty oils and watercolors, some of which were published in Gallery, a periodical.

　　1981, two pieces of his printworks Early Spring of Chongqing and Building Site of Shizitan Power Station were organized into the Selected Printworks of Sichuan published by Sichuan People’s Publishing House. Went to Jiuzhai Valley to sketch.

　　1982, the oil painting Chongqing in the Rain was shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute’s Works to Beijing. The oil painting Footpath of Red Rock and Golden Autumn were shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Oil Paintings to Shenzhen. Made the Series Chongqing, 14 pieces of oil paintings, which was screened as a special film by Central Film Studio of News and Documentary.

　　1983, four oil paintings including Customs of Sichuan Village and Return were shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Oil Paintings.

　　1984, made the oil paintings Morning Screen and Long Years, which in addition to Footpath of Red Rock were shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Fine Arts Institute’s Works to Beijing. The oil works Flower, Panda, and First Light in the Morning were shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Oil Paintings held in Hongkong.

　　1985, Long Years was housed by National Art Museum of China.

　　1986, the watercolors Female Nude, Nightfall, Denmark Girl and others, all in six pieces, were shown on Exhibition of Sichuan Watercolors.

　　1987, promoted to the rank of vice-professor. The oil painting Peony was organized into the Volume of Oil Paintings in Collection of the Works from China Fine Art Colleges published by Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House. Divorced Zhou Deyu.

　　1988, went to Hainan to observe the local customs. Married Zhao Qing.

　　1989, the oil painting God of Sky River was shown on Sichuan Art Exhibition for 40th Anniversary of State Founding. The oil painting The Nude was organized into the Special Collect of Oil Works Selected by China Middle-aged and Young Painters Themselves published by Lijiang Publishing House. Went with his wife to Nanshan area, Chongqing, beginning his recluse life.

　　1990, the oil painting Morning Herd took part in the First Competition of China Elaborate Oil Works. Collection World, a periodical in Hongkong, introduced his oil works in a special edition.

　　1991, went with his wife to Zhaojusi Temple, Chengdu, being converted as a disciple of the master Qingding.

　　1992, Yanhuang Art, a periodical in Taiwan, introduced his watercolors in a special edition. Held his individual exhibition in Taiwan Yanhuang Art Museum. Went to Jiangsu and Zhejiang, sketching for a quarter, and making over 20 oil works. Du Yimo, his daughter was born.

　　1993, finished his recluse life for four years, during which time he had made over 80 oil works. 　　1996, Taiwan Mountain Art Foundation held Joint Exhibition of Du Yongqiao and Luo Zhongli, Teacher and Student. The watercolor Still Life won the silver prize of the First Exhibition of China Watercolors. The oil painting Autumn Moon was shown on Exhibition of Oil Works of 100 Chinese Modern Painters held in Taiwan.

　　1997, the watercolor Still Life was organized into Watercolor Art published by Beijing People’s Fine Arts Publishing house. The oil painting Table on Balcony was shown on the national exhibition of still lives. The Retrospective Exhibition of Du Yongqiao’s Art was opened in Sichuan Fine Arts Institute (Chongqing) and in Sichuan Art Museum (Chengdu) one after another and the two symposia on the art of Du Yongqiao were respectively held. The exhibition was reported by a dozen of media, such as Communication of China Artists, Communication of Sichuan Artists, Sichuan TV Station and Chongqing TV Station. A special TV program Du Yongqiao and His Painting Art was broadcasted successively by CCTV Educational Channel and Chongqing TV Station.

　　1998, moved to Chengdu.

　　1999, Taiwan Dunhuang Art Museum held his individual exhibition one after another in four cities. A Collection of Du Yongqiao’s Oil Paintings was published by Southwest China Normal University Press. The Still Lives and Flowers of Master Du Yongqiao: The Masters’ Treasures was published by Sichuan Fine Arts Publishing House.

　　2000, two periodicals Art Observation and Rongbaozhai introduced his oil works and watercolors in their special editions. They still published a special report Conversations with Du Yongqiao.

　　2002, was converted to Christianity. Visited Russia.

　　2003, formally received baptism.

　　2004, The Top Ten Painters of China: Du Yongqiao’s Collection of Chinese Traditional Painting was published by People’s Daily Press.

　　2005, the special TV program Thunderous Silence: The Art of Du Yongqiao’s Oil Painting was broadcasted here and there in Sichuan.

　　2007, the Retrospective Exhibition of Du Yongqiao’s Watercolor and Oil Painting was co-held by Sichuan Artists Association and Sichuan Fine Arts Institute in Sichuan Art Museum. The exhibition was noticeably reported by dozens of media both at home and abroad. One month later, passed away.
